Miradas Compartidas 23 La Habana

November 21 - December 20
Etherea gallery
For the first edition of this photo contest, the expectations were fulfilled. There were a large number of entries and the quality of the projects submitted was excellent. Therefore, the selection proved to be very complex, but gave the judges the opportunity to extrapolate very interesting and original works.
Among the interesting and original projects exhibited at Etherea Gallery is Mauro Marletto's 'Presenze', which won first place. It is a work focused on the observation of contemporary society that is transformed by the epochal change that is sweeping it. The people portrayed are actors in a dreamlike representation that seems to be timeless, but relentlessly tells of a daily restlessness. Paola Francesca Barone won a place in the finals with her project "Alambicco", which represents the psychic transformation brought about by the physical places the author has passed through or inhabited, almost an implosion of the various elements, natural or artefacts, penetrating one into the other. Places become gyms of mixture where everything that inhabits the universe mixes and generates an extraordinary fusion. Simone Francioli with "la danza dell'acqua" immortalises a gush of water that magically splits to generate two figures, two bodies that embrace to dance sinuously and elegantly, ending in a passionate kiss. Pierrick Gaumé with 'L'Evasione Immobile' focuses his research on escape points and light phenomena he encounters in closed places. Details of life forced into the lockdowns of 2020, of unusual interiors, of reflections with superimpositions or enigmatic chiaroscuro. Franco Martelli Rossi, on the other hand, amuses and entertains us with his 'Glassogrammi'. That they are a joke, a game is obvious, but if we dig beyond the immediate impression we realise that these images are a refined homage to the intimate interpretation of each artist who constructs illusions, transformations and deformations to express thoughts and emotions.
For a better view of the exhibition, once inside, we recommend selecting full screen mode.
